Arizona Honey Highlight: Cayenne Pepper Honey

Cayenne pepper is a popular spice used in a variety of cuisines. Our local Arizona honey is mixed with cayenne pepper to give you a spicy-sweet condiment. Make sure you stir the honey before using it in your recipes, as the cayenne pepper will eventually work its way to the top of the jar.

The holidays are filled with an abundance of sweets, so let’s take a break from desserts and cocktails and prepare a healthy main course before diving into those cookies, pies and chocolates that are so prevalent this time of year. Our Crowd-Pleasing Chicken recipe is quick, easy, uses few ingredients, and can be made ahead of time. Honey replaces the  maple syrup to give a new twist to this family favorite. You can easily double, or even triple, this recipe to feed a crowd.

Using a whisk, slowly drizzle the Absolutely Delightful AZ Cayenne Pepper Honey into the mustard and rice wine vinegar.
Place the chicken thighs into the baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Turn the thighs over in the mixture so they are fully coated.

Do Ahead Tip: At this point, you may cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to bake.

Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 165ºF.

Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Plate the chicken, making sure to spoon some extra sauce over the top.

Hi Tammy! Yes, if you don’t have cayenne pepper honey in your pantry, use the same amount of honey and add 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Enjoy!
